A male indicted of inventing a ruthless VIP paedophile ring believed his claims to be true, a probity has heard.
Carl Beech, 51, is on hearing over claims he was a plant of a purported network, that presumably enclosed MPs and members of a Army and comprehension services, in a 1970s and 1980s.
Defending Mr Beech, Collingwood Thompson QC pronounced his customer “genuinely believed” what he had told detectives.

On Tuesday, prosecutor Tony Badenoch QC told a jury Mr Beech found revelation falsehoods “as easy as starting a day with a crater of tea competence be to some of you”.
He added: “The suspect Carl Beech is a worldly paedophile. we make no reparation for observant it, a justification proves it.
“At some theatre Carl Beech appears to have assured himself that such poise is excusable for whatever purpose he had.
“Spying on children, stealthily filming [a child], entertainment literally hundreds of images of a rape and abuse of children, any of them a rapist offence.”
The probity listened in May that Mr Beech has philosophy for voyeurism and creation and possessing faulty images of children.
