Designer Kunal Rawal, who forged a niche for himself by giving a contemporary and multi-functional proceed to menswear, feels that from a time when men’s conform was “not taken seriously”, a courtesy has now developed to something to watch out for. Rawal says that by a time he started off, “design and fashion” for group was not taken really severely though group currently are surer of what they want.
“We have to credit amicable media that prepared group about conform that was so important. They are now unprotected to trends. The same information is removing disseminated to everybody during once.”
He tells IANSlife: “The marketplace has started responding in a right way. Guys are lot some-more concerned today. Unlike women who come in with Pinterest board, group don’t come with that though they are good researched. They know a concepts of my collections.”
The engineer shares that he entered a courtesy with few thoughts that he strongly believed in and was penetrating in pulling them to turn a voice of his label.
The 34-year-old pronounced that he was uneasy with a fact that group didn’t have adequate options for them. He pronounced his aim was to prioritize men’s conform like that of women’s.
“When it comes to men, we have usually a tiny shelve for them to select from. we wanted to change that and build in a immeasurable accumulation of options for them”.
Rawal says that there is during slightest 200-400 collection strength for business during his stores in Mumbai and Delhi.
According to a designer, another reason behind starting his tag was that he always felt that guys didn’t have fun with their clothes. “Whoever we spoke to, many of them had a lot of western wear and contend usually dual Indian outfits. What we wanted to do was to move in garments that could transition from western wear to arise wear and outfits people could multi-task with.”
Rawal’s aim was to fill in a opening between a western and Indian side of men’s wardrobe, that he says he has achieved to some extent.
“Men currently wish multi-functional clothes. An outfit that can be ragged in opposite looks. Filling in a opening between their western side of a habit and a Indian side was what we wanted,” says Rawal, who is famous for adding fun twists to normal menswear.
According to a designer, it worried him when he saw that many of a guys were not really concerned in decision-making while picking Indian wear for themselves as a women in a residence chose garments for them.
“They (men) were not really concerned in preference making. There was a miss of conversation. So we wanted to change that,” says a designer. “You have to engage yourself in a demeanour that you’re wearing.”
According to Rawal, group prioritize functionality, comfort and mobility when it comes to their outfits. So by adding fun component to his creations, a engineer tries to play with a fabrics and silhouettes.
“I would like to deposit in something that creates me demeanour slimmer and changes my conformation and have intelligent detailing. All a cuts are done to make large boys seem slimmer and afterwards we do 3D embroideries for petite ones who wish to demeanour bigger.
“In a ridicule layering that we do, we erect mixed pieces into one piece. It will demeanour as if one is wearing dual or 3 outfits, though indeed it’s only one garment,” he says.
Rawal, who was unprotected to a conform universe given his childhood, says that he entered into a courtesy for a technical side of it and not glamour. His father owned an trade residence where he learnt a nuances of textures and fabrics.
“Going to a fabric level, a construction turn is what we consider is my forte. we adore personification with constructions and fabrics. Fabric is 80 per cent of a garment. You can change a mantle demeanour if we tweak a fabric. we adore utilizing with fabric, and with record there’s so most we could do,” Rawal shares.
The engineer says that his garments are meant for those who have a “slight some-more tellurian aesthetics and adore tradition and normal clothes”.
Rawal feels that it is also critical to make traditional, occasional wear contemporary as functions are not like what they used to be 5-10 years back. And with a approach functions are now hold in a country, garments also have to change.
According to him, one does not need to follow any rule. Designers now play with opposite cuts and silhouettes as there is no tough and quick approach to be followed.
“Occasion wear currently is removing cool. One of a biggest trend via a universe is cross-cultural influences. You see people wearing sherwanis on tellurian ramp. Kurtas are zero though prolonged line silhouettes. There is a lot of courtesy on India and Indian silhouettes are going by a large evolution.”
