American filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola will be celebrated with Lumiere Award during a Lumiere Festival, scheduled to be hold in Oct this year.
Coppola’s many famous work, The Godfather Trilogy will be screened by a night during a festival as partial of a reverence to a 80-year-old filmmaker, reported Variety.
The film festival, to be hold from Oct 12 to 20 this year, celebrates birthright cinema and filmmakers each year in Lyon Metropolis, France.
It was launched by Cannes’ artistic executive Thierry Fremaux and filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier from a Institut Lumiere in 2009.
Previous recipients of this endowment are Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese and Wong Kar-Wai.
