A 27-year-old woman, Blessing Edet, was on Wednesday condemned to 10 years in jail for stabbing her 33-year-old fiance, Edet Ebong, to genocide during a fight.
Earlier, a immature lady had been charged with one count assign of murder, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The judgment was however, commuted to intentional killing by a hearing judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo.
Justice Taiwo said, “By stabbing a defunct in a reduce partial of his abdomen, she did not intend to means disgusting mistreat to a defendant.
“The suspect has determined factors required to infer a self-defence.
“I find that a suspect acted in self-defence as she was a plant of an unprovoked assault.
“The suspect is not guilty of murder though we find her guilty of a contingent killing of Edet Ebong.
“I hereby judgment a suspect to 10 years seizure with no choice of fine.
“The judgment will take outcome from Aug 2015 that is when she had been in custody.”
